Cagliari is under lockdown on the occasion of the National Armed Forces Day scheduled for November 4th.

While it was natural to expect the participation of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, it surprisingly transpires that the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni could also be in the Sardinian capital for the occasion.

However, the presence of the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto and the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa is taken for granted.

Still no details on the day's program which is being directly dealt with by the Quirinale ceremonial staff (as happens for all the Head of State's trips) together with Rear Admiral Enrico Paccioni.

We only know that the demonstration will be celebrated in the port area of Cagliari, between 11am and 1pm. The Prime Minister could decide to take part in the parade even at the last moment but her decision will be linked to the evolution of the situation in the Middle East . Obviously the maximum institutional respect for the Sassari Brigade will be guaranteed.

The security measures will be exceptional and - considering the high density of firing ranges on the island, which has always been the subject of controversy - will have to take into account possible anti-militarist initiatives.
