Young but already established. The “Musicanova” review starts again at the “Canepa” Conservatory. On Friday 4 February in Sala Sassu at 7 pm the Ensemble Xiema will open the Sassari review. The name of the formation refers to the International Ensemble Modern Academy, an academy for young musicians dedicated to contemporary languages whose teachers are the members of the famous Modern Ensemble in Frankfurt.
The young German musicians are in Sardinia to attend an internship on contemporary techniques and languages at the Conservatory, which is also very popular with Canepa's students.
Of particular interest in the program is the presence of two pieces by Sassari authors, winners of an internal selection banned for this purpose. Alongside repertoire pieces such as Salvatore Sciarrino's “Muro d'orizzonte” and George Benjamin's “Ottetto”, Claudio Panai's “A cold dead body” by Mario Carta Relativity will be premiered.
The next appointment is set for Thursday 17 February with the Hybrid Ensemble of Cagliari, a concert offered at the Conservatory by the Laborintus Association.
The ensemble is made up of Enrico Di Felice on flute and flute in G, Raffaele Bertolini on clarinet and bass clarinet, Fabrizio Casti and Roberto Zanata on audio / video electronics.
They will present an audio visual project in which works by Andrea Nicoli, Fabrizio Casti, Pantaleo Leonfranco Cammarano and Roberto Zanata will be proposed.
