The Mario Cervo Archives welcomes the summer solstice by entrusting the dawn concert on Pittulongu beach to the Doo Doo Dolls. On Sunday, June 21st, at 5:50 a.m., the Olbia beach will once again be the natural stage for "Su sole ballende," which over the years has become a symbol of the intersection of memory, culture, and the beauty of the region.
Created to revive and celebrate an ancient Terranova tradition linked to the feast of San Giovanni, the event—which annually draws hundreds of people to the seashore to watch the sunrise, reviving a ritual rooted in Gallura's folk culture and recalling the Terranovans' custom of waiting for dawn to observe the sun's reflections on the sea and draw auspicious omens for the future—has reached its 10th anniversary this year, so much so that the 2026 edition has been renamed "Su sole ballende: ten years of emotions at dawn."
Accompanying the sunrise will be the refined vocal trio Doo Doo Dolls, consisting of Lulli Lostia, Silvia Macchia, and Michela Mura, joined by guitarist Mauro Laconi. This elegant and engaging musical project spans Italian and international pop through original vocal harmonies and acoustic arrangements, creating an intimate and intense atmosphere. The perfect setting for an experience that celebrates the new day and renews the deep connection between the community and its cultural heritage.
