After the success of Gonzalo Rubalcaba, the Californian drummer and composer, one of the most loved by both the general public and international critics, Jeff Ballard, the new awaited protagonist of The Jazz Club Network 2022, the traveling festival, arrives on the island Massimo Palmas, organized by the new managers of the Massimo Theater, Cedac and multidisciplinary circuit of live entertainment, chaired by AntonIo Cabiddu, in collaboration with Jazz In Sardegna.

Modern and eclectic drummer, with in-depth knowledge, Ballard, on stage tonight at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari at 9 pm, tomorrow, Wednesday 23 March, at the Vecchio Mulino di Sassari at 8.30 pm and the day after tomorrow at the Poco Loco in Alghero starting at 10 pm, is a musician who interprets tradition well and who in the course of his career has been able to develop a unique and personal language.

The list of collaborations is spectacular: from Brad Mehldau to Lou Donaldson, Chick Corea, Joshua Redman.

His latest album entitled "Fairgrounds" offers an open, fluid and always evolving music, a sound shaped by jazz but which comes to life where different worlds collide: acoustic and electronic, swing and ambient, analog and digital.

Musically varied, at times very daring, unexpected, "Fairgrounds" does not have a fixed and pre-established repertoire: it starts from sound ideas brought by Ballard and his companions who then, from time to time, take on different forms.

The leader's commitment and creativity are accompanied by the band composed of Ameen Saleem on double bass, Charles Altura on guitar and Logan Richardson on alto sax.

A quartet that links world music to rock music, the technological avant-garde to the deep jazz tradition.

Entrance with reinforced green pass and mandatory FFP2 mask for the duration of the concert.
