Singer Denise Gueye twice on stage at the 19th edition of Musica & Natura , the music festival organized in Porto Torres by the Musicando Insieme association.

The Sardinia Jazz Orchestra will meet the splendid voice of the Afro-Sardinian artist in continuous experimentation, in the concert scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 13 August at 9:30 pm in the majestic Basilica of San Gavino. The singer will also be the protagonist of the musical event scheduled for Wednesday 14 August, at 10 pm , at the Li Lioni estates. The Sardinia Jazz Orchestra is among the rare formations that have operated continuously since its inception.

It has been active since 1989, first known as the “Blue Note Orchestra” and since 1996 with the name of Orchestra Jazz della Sardegna. It has a basic instrumental lineup made up of eighteen musicians divided into the traditional groupings of a jazz “big band”: 5 reeds, 4 horns-trombones, 4 trumpets, rhythm section (piano, guitar, double bass, drums).

The basic staff is expanded when necessary with the contribution of other instrumental sections (strings, woodwinds, percussion) in relation to the scores addressed. Its characteristic is the alternation of musicians in its staff depending on the musical projects. On this occasion the singer Denise Gueye will be present, one of the voices best known to the public due to the numerous collaborations in which she is the protagonist.

The artist will also take to the stage set up in the garden of Tenute Li Lioni , in this case with a quartet capable of supporting and containing the numerous sound directions undertaken by the singer.

The musical project entitled “Denise Gueye 4Tet” is a modern reinterpretation of the vocal jazz of the 40s and 50s, confirmation that the artist, often accompanied by bands of different roots and stylistic origins, moves with ease in any musical context.

The band is composed of Denise Gueye vocals, Simone Faedda guitar, Marco Occhioni double bass and Bruno Brozzu drums.

The event is curated by artistic director Donatella Parodi.
