Alberto Corda, surgeon, flag of the Reformers, is the center-right candidate for the municipal elections of Monserrato. Corda, outgoing city councilor, will run supported by Fratelli d'Italia, Alleanza Sardegna, Forza Italia and civic Monserrato in motion, as well as by the liberal democrats. The most direct challenger is the outgoing mayor, Tomaso Locci, who didn't want to know about breaking the civic pact with his lists and goes to the polls without party flags, exactly like in 2019. Same choice for Tiziana Mori. The centre-left, however, has given itself one more day to decide what to do: the choice is between the dem Efisio Sanna and the independent Valentina Picciau, who lost to Locci in 2019.

Yesterday the official announcement of Corda's candidacy was accompanied by a press note which is an appeal to the expansion of the coalition: «We are open to other parties and civic lists that recognize themselves in the program, in the mayoral candidate and in the values of democracy, confrontation , transparency and correctness", we read in the document. The reminder is aimed above all at the Psd'Az which, as is known, broke with the centre-right after the choice of the mayoral candidate in Cagliari, Alessandra Zedda, preferred to the Sardinian Gianni Chessa.
