« Give back to Nuoro the role that is rightfully due to this city , bringing it out of the immobility of the last decades». Giuseppe Luigi Cucca , candidate for mayor with a civic aggregation that includes the main centre-right parties, is ready for the challenge to conquer the capital of Barbagia and beat the broad-field coalition running with the M5s deputy Emiliano Fenu.

In front of the journalists, the aspiring mayor immediately clarified: «I would like to underline that ours is not a center-right aggregation, I would only call it the aggregation of people who care about this city and would like to improve it . I had launched an appeal for quite some time to the political forces - he recalls - I was not thinking of running but I wanted to make myself available . Nuoro has given me so much, not only in politics, but also in my profession, now the time has come to give something back ».

Lawyer, former member of parliament, regional secretary of the Democratic Party and former deputy group leader in the Senate of Italia Viva, Cucca is the current secretary of Action in Sardinia. And now he is aiming to govern the city of Nuoro.

City that "was a point of reference for the whole of Sardinia in various aspects. First of all - he underlines - for culture, lately it has declined a bit, but also for politics and the nearby territories. Our effort and commitment - he assures - will go in this direction".

Also present at the press conference with Cucca were the regional secretary of Forza Italia Pietro Pittalis and the former regional councilor for Public Works Pierluigi Saiu of Siamo Nuoro. "It is a baptism of the broad alliance, which started as a center-right, but which now gathers all the forces that do not belong to the broad field and want to improve the condition of Nuoro - explains the blue leader - It is the convergence of the responsible forces present in the city to create a project that represents the redemption of our community".

"An alliance not against - Pittalis specifies - but to do things. Starting from urban planning, from the degradation that the suburbs are experiencing, the problem of the traders in the center, the lack of sports equipment, the recovery of the university, the enhancement of Monte Ortobene, of our environmental and cultural archaeological sites, the area of Prato Sardo: many unfinished projects".
