In Sardinia, local elections will be postponed by two weeks, from 14 and 15 May to 28 and 29 May.

This is what emerges from the center-right table convened at Villa Devoto to take stock of the candidacies for mayor in Iglesias and Assemini , the two municipalities with more than fifteen thousand inhabitants for which a second round of ballots is scheduled.

The meeting, which is attended by the regional and territorial coordinators of the forces in the field, in addition to the president of the Region Christian Solinas, will be divided into two parts: the first will discuss the situation in Assemini, the second will focus on Iglesias.

As a Region with a special statute, the island has autonomy over the administrative calendar , and the postponement of the vote with respect to the date established by the Council of Ministers was in the air. At the origin of the decision are the short time for the formation of the lists and the difficulty of closing the circle on the candidates for mayor.

THE LIST - In addition to Iglesias and Assemini, votes are held in 36 other Municipalities: in the metropolitan city of   Cagliari   in Decimomannu .
