The tones of the electoral campaign in Milan light up. The center-right candidate Luca Bernardo, having received the money of the parties after having threatened to withdraw from the race at Palazzo Marino, attacks the outgoing mayor (and all his constituents) in a letter to the newspaper "La Verità".

"The real gun will be the ones who will vote for Sala," he writes.

Open up heaven. Immediate response of the mayor: “Today Dr. Bernardo gives a 'gun' to those who vote for me. As long as he insults me, we will also let go, but insulting hundreds and thousands of Milanese who voted for me and I hope they will vote for me, that's not okay ”.

Again, in a video posted on his Facebook page: “We are in Milan, a great city where the democratic sense has never been lost. Doctor Bernardo I understand that the electoral campaign is not going as expected, but we cannot go down to these levels of vulgarity ”.

Bernard's rejoinder is not long in coming: “Are you calling me vulgar? Well, vulgar means vulgar, popular. Yes, I am a man of the people, that people you have never seen and with whom you have never confronted ".

"Dear outgoing mayor - he continues -, you seem a bit nervous and agitated. But isn't it perhaps because you imagined winning the elections by forgetting that in democracy they choose the citizens? The Milanese citizens will choose 3 and 4 who will be their guide" .
