A grave mourning in the world of Sardinian politics. Felice (Felicetto) Contu died at the age of 95.
Originally from Mogoro, a notary by profession, he has held numerous positions and was also regional councilor of Sardinia.
First city councilor and then mayor of his town, in 1956 he became councilor and assessor of the Province of Cagliari. Two years after the election in the Regional Council in the DC lists, then confirmed for the V, VI, VII, XII and XIV regional legislature from 1961 to 1979, from 1999 to 2004, and in 2009.
Councilor for Local Authorities between 1967 and 1969, for Agriculture and Agro-Pastoral Reform between 1977 and 1979 and again between 2001 and 2004. From June 1969 to January 1977 he was president of the Regional Council.
In 1979 he was elected deputy, then confirmed in 1983 and 1987. He was also undersecretary of the Ministry of the Treasury and that of Health.
In 1989 he arrived at the European Parliament with the DC list.
In 1996 he returned to active politics after a brief absence as a candidate of the PPI in the political elections in the single-member constituency of Chamber n.14 of Quartu Sant'Elena, but he was defeated by the outgoing deputy Cicu.
Back in the Regional Council under the banner of the CCD, he was elected president of the UDC council group In 2009, he was in the Regional Council for the XIV legislature under the banner of the Union of Center Democrats being called to hold the position of president of the VII commission permanent council.
