Giovanni Desini, former councilor and regional councilor, former president of the Province of Sassari and a leading figure of the Sardinian PSDI for decades died this morning at dawn.

He joined the regional council with Mariolino Floris, who had assigned him the responsibility for Transport, a position he held until October 30, 1991 and renewed until October 1992 by the new president Antonio Cabras.

Desini, 85, holds a record that is hard to match: for 39 consecutive years, until 2001 when he left his political legacy to his son Roberto, he was a city councilor in Sennori, his country of origin for which he spent his political commitment of a lifetime.

On Saturday morning, the funeral parlor will be set up in the town council hall. The funeral will be celebrated on Sunday at 11 in the church of San Basilio Magno.
