Fabio Di Giannantonio, riding the VR46 Ducati, won the Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix, which was marred by crashes and red flags. The Italian finished ahead of Spaniard Joan Mir (Honda) and Fermin Aldeguer (Team Gresini Ducati). Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi's Aprilia finished sixth, while Pecco Bagnaia (factory Ducati) finished fifth.
Alex Marquez and Zarco had scary accidents, both of whom ended up in the hospital. Marquez hit Pedro Acosta's KTM head-on, which suddenly stopped on the straight.
