Over three hundred students, dozens of associations and volunteers: Monumenti Aperti proved to be an unexpected success and today the municipal administration wanted to reward the many young people (and not so young people) who last May 14-15 allowed visits to major sites archaeological and cultural historians of Carbonia turned into an event.

So this morning for a few hours at the Central Theater in Piazza Roma the ceremony for the delivery of the certificates of participation in Monumenti Aperti took place.

Together with the mayor Pietro Morittu and the councilors Antonietta Melas, Michele Stivaletta, Piero Porcu and Giorgia Meli and the representatives of the associations, all the schools of all levels were present. "As a demonstration - underlines the commissioner Melas - of the training pact that was created to restore an event that had stopped four years ago".

Managing Open Monuments for children was challenging if only because over 4000 visitors showed up who stormed museums and cultural sites of all kinds during the two days of scorching heat.

"A good omen for the future - the mayor remarked - that the children were able to appropriate the city and the hamlets by studying its history first: effort and self-denial doubly worthy of public recognition after two years of Covid which have hit hard. the schools".

The event also allowed the Municipality to understand which are the driving sites and those on which to work the most.
