The great summer of culture continues in Monteleone Rocca Doria , the smallest town in the province of Sassari, but also an extraordinarily evocative place full of attractions.
On Saturday 10 September , in the meeting room of the Roccadò hotel, starting at 9.45am, a conference is scheduled on Eleonora d'Arborea, a distinguished medieval jurist and one of the predominant figures in Sardinian history. The initiative was organized by the municipal administration of Monteleone Rocca Doria, with the active collaboration of the University of Sassari and the council of the Bar associations of Sassari and Oristano.
The rector Gavino Mariotti will also be present at the conference, who will accompany illustrious guests of the University itself, of the forensic world and of Sardinian culture.
"It will be an intense day full of studies - explains the mayor of Monteleone Rocca Doria, Giovannina Fresi -. A conference on Eleonora d'Arborea in our village is certainly not accidental, in fact she was also the wife of Brancaleone Doria, lord of the powerful family Genoese who erected a splendid castle in Monteleone Rocca Doria, of which significant vestiges still remain today ”.
"In addition - continues Fresi - the conference will also be an opportunity to talk about the theme of justice , the main topic of" La Carta de Logu ", promulgated by Eleonora d'Arborea. On the table a very topical issue: restorative justice in Criminal law , currently subject to reform. The whole symposium in any case will serve the historical and social enhancement of our beautiful medieval village, which this Administration is trying hard to revive ".
Saturday's initiative will end in the evening with a guided walk inside the suggestive corners of Monteleone Rocca Doria. A mural will also be officially inaugurated , commissioned by the municipal administration, in memory of the event and of Eleonora d'Arborea, curated by the artist "Manu Invisibile".
