Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton are separating.
The 60-year-old actress from Città di Castello and the 67-year-old Californian director announced the separation in a statement sent to AFP. "It is with great respect and mutual affection that Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton have decided to separate," the statement read.
The two stars had been together since 2022. Sparks flew at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, where she presented him with the Lumière Award for Lifetime Achievement. The following year, they stepped out in the open, holding hands in Paris and attending events together like the Rome Film Fest and the Emmy Awards.
Bellucci and Burton had also worked together, with her among the female leads in his sequel Beetlejuice, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2024.
Bellucci was married for 14 years to actor Vincent Cassel, with whom she had daughters Deva—now an actress herself—and Léonie. Burton, meanwhile, had a long relationship with Helena Bonham Carter, with whom he had two children: Billy Ray and Nell.
