Culture is once again intertwined with the great themes of our time at Mondo Eco, the literature festival dedicated to ecological, social and cultural sustainability, now in its fifth edition. With the artistic direction of Rita Atzeri and the support of the Regional Department of Culture, the festival is a laboratory of ideas, discussion and inspiration, hosting authors of great depth and an increasingly participatory public in Cagliari and its hinterland.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 4 December, the events will explore the complexity of existence, between art, history and denunciation. At 6 pm, at Casa Saddi in Pirri, the multifaceted Giovanni Succi, an iconic figure of Italian rock, will present his literary debut “Amaro Succi”. An irreverent and ironic autobiography, which mixes music, family events and a surreal reinterpretation of Dante. In conversation with him, Duilio Caocci, professor of Italian Literature, followed by a reading where Succi will give voice to the verses of the Supreme Poet.

At 7:00 p.m., the festival will be tinged with historical and political reflection with Giampaolo Cadalanu, correspondent for Repubblica, who will present “The hidden war. Afghanistan in the story of the Italian military”. A lucid and unfiltered dialogue on the Italian mission in Afghanistan, between forgotten heroism, political hypocrisy and a dramatic balance sheet. With him, Gianluca Scroccu, historian of the University of Cagliari, to delve into the background of a conflict that is still too little known.

But Mondo Eco is not just narration, it is also discovery. The day will begin at 11 with Monica Corimbi, actress of the Bocheteatro company, who will guide the audience to the discovery of “The secrets of the herbarium” in Quartucciu. In the afternoon, at 4 pm, again in the Mariposa de Cardu Garden, Cristina Caboni will present her latest novel “The girl without roots”, an intimate journey in search of identity and one's roots.
