"Mission impossible" for Giorgia Meloni. Who first meets Tom Cruise at Palazzo Chigi and then flies to Paris to meet Macron and give a turn to stormy relations with France.

The Hollywood star, in Rome for the filming of "Mission Impossible 7", was received yesterday by the Prime Minister at Palazzo Chigi.

The actor arrived at the seat of government in a luxury sedan with tinted rear windows, followed by another car and four vans. After a meeting of about half an hour he left Palazzo Chigi.

«Glad that the capital of Italy is the star of Tom Cruise's latest film. Today in Rome the world premiere. The 'mission impossible' are also our daily bread in government," Giorgia Meloni wrote on Instagram, posting a photo with Tom Cruise.

But the real "mission impossible" for the premier is today. Giorgia Meloni will cross the threshold of the Elysée for the first time for the awaited face-to-face with Emmanuel Macron. The opportunity to fly to Paris is actually that of supporting Rome's candidacy to host Expo 2030.

But the head-on clash over migrants and the heavy accusations of French ministers against the Italian government and against Meloni cannot be ignored. A relationship to mend therefore: the diplomacies have worked to the last minute to create space, and prepare the ground, for a bilateral agreement that takes on a symbolic value, in the hope of a change in Italy-France relations.
