Mirra Andreeva has won the 2026 edition of the women's Roland Garros. The 19-year-old Russian won her first career Grand Slam title and, with this result, moved to first place in the Race, the ranking that takes into account results from 2026.

Andreeva defeated Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 20 minutes of play. The match was close until Chwalinska led 3-2, but then the Russian shifted gears and, with nine consecutive games, took a 6-3, 5-0 lead before closing out 6-2 after some late hesitation.

The Polish player's fairytale thus ends in the final act. Starting in qualifying (she didn't even know how to pay for her hotel the second week, given that the tournament prizes don't arrive immediately), she made it all the way to the final. She can certainly start a new career: she was ranked 114th in the world before this tournament, and from Monday she'll be number 24.

The men's final is tomorrow at 3 p.m., with Flavio Cobolli taking on Alexander Zverev.
