The alarm was raised by Alessandra Todde , the governor's target being bill 1887 under discussion in the Chamber, a proposed law that would essentially aim to bypass the Regions' environmental competences in territories where military complexes are located. In the name of "national security needs".
"A serious fact", according to Todde, which particularly affects Sardinia, where "about 65% of Italian military bases" are located .
"I say it clearly in Rome, the issues that concern Sardinia are decided by the Region. We do not accept impositions or steps backwards in our autonomy ", thunders the governor, according to whom the bill 1887 is "an attack on Sardinian autonomy that we cannot tolerate" and that "no Sardinian who cares about this land should accept".
Hence the appeal to the opposition: «Let us unite to reject this umpteenth attempt to empty the autonomy of our land» .
Todde finally relaunches, underlining the need for the State to "open a serious discussion on the military presence on the island. After decades, it is no longer acceptable that Sardinia alone pays the price of this legacy".
