Rest today, actually not. All on the pitch to prepare for the match against Salernitana on 4 January.
Stefano Pioli knows the importance of restarting well, preventing Napoli from further extending the gap and keeping the other rivals at bay. For this reason, the Milan coach revoked the rest day initially scheduled for today, December 31st. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, director of the technical area and sporting director, supported Pioli in this decision.
The players didn't oppose it, aware of the importance of the moment and of the need to find order and balance by taking advantage of the few training sessions available between now and the next match.
Not a punishment for the 3-0 defeat in yesterday's friendly against PSV, but certainly a signal sent by the coach, probably to allow even the last veterans of the World Cup, from Theo and Giroud to Leao, to be ready for the resumed in Salerno.
