Anna Wintour in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, preparing for "Vogue World: Milano," the highly anticipated event for 500 guests that effectively inaugurates Fashion Week, dedicated to the spring-summer 2027 collections. This edition features 203 events, including 61 fashion shows and 54 events, starting with the opening dinner on the 23rd at the Palazzo Reale with Mayor Beppe Sala, for the vernissage of the exhibition "Dalì and Fashion."
This year's runway shows, "with the highest number of events in recent years," emphasized Carlo Capasa, president of the National Chamber of Fashion. 141,000 visitors are expected to stay in the city for the entire event, from September 22nd to 28th. The program opens with Prada and closes with Armani, but also includes highly anticipated events, such as the debut of Moschino's new creative directors, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, founders of Sunnei, who will present a co-ed collection for the first time on September 25th.
The week will kick off with a surprise farewell: Glenn Martens will leave Diesel as creative director. The Belgian designer will remain at the helm of Martin Margiela, but the September 22nd show will be the final one for the denim-focused brand. Also on September 22nd, the spotlight will be on new designs by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, who will also host a party with Jeff Mills that evening. On September 23rd, Maria Grazia Chiuri will present her second collection for Fendi, while Antonio Marras will open his show to the city with a show at the Vincenzo Muccioli Garden.
On September 24th, other historic Made in Italy brands are scheduled, including Max Mara, Genny, and Marni, with the second collection designed by Meryll Rogge; Alberta Ferretti, currently grappling with the serious financial crisis of the Aeffe group; and Roberto Cavalli, whose majority stake recently passed from Damac to Marquee Brands, an American company that manages a portfolio of luxury brands. The day will close with Emporio Armani, which was originally scheduled to present its show but, following the announcement of Dario Vitale's appointment as creative director, opted instead for a presentation format for the latest collection designed by Silvana Armani, head of the Giorgio Armani womenswear line, which will be on the catwalk on September 27th. There are also plenty of events on September 25th, from Tod's, Sportmax, and Blumarine to Gucci, with the new collection designed by Demna. That same day, shows will be held by Simon Cracker, Elisabetta Franchi, Luisa Spagnoli, and The Attico, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Via Sammartini. Hogan, on the other hand, has chosen Bocconi University to celebrate its 40th anniversary on September 23rd with the event "Made to move, born to rise", while Gianvito Rossi will blow out 20 candles on September 24th at Palazzo Serbelloni.
On September 26th, Ermanno Scervino, Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, MSGM, Laura Biagiotti at the Piccolo, Act n1 and Marco Rambaldi, Bottega Veneta, and Philipp Plein will be showing their collections at the Ippodromo. Aquilano Rimondi, former creative directors of Malo and Ferrè, will also be returning to the Milan catwalk on the same day.
