The 2023 Destinations report on data from the regional migration observatory drawn up by the Acli Sardinia Regional Emigration-Immigration Center (CREI-ACLI) will be presented on Monday at 5 pm at the Sardinia Foundation (via San Salvatore da Horta) in Cagliari.

The regional councilor Ada Lai, the regional president of ACLI Mauro Carta, Vania Statzu and Alessandra Pisu, members of the CREI-ACLI Sardinia working group will intervene.

This will be followed by a debate animated by Luisa Salaris, professor of economics and statistics at the University of Cagliari, and by the regional councilors Alessandra Zedda and Valter Piscedda.

«Also in this report we highlight a demographic situation with strong criticalities - comments Mauro Carta -. The number of inhabitants continues to decrease, the birth rate is the lowest in Italy and almost all municipalities have a negative natural and migratory balance; there is the risk of having, in a few years, a very low percentage of people of working age and a further increase of over-65s. Also this year we have examined a series of aspects that we consider essential to better understand Sardinia: the emigration of Sardinians but also immigration on the island (now in stasis), the decisions of students on where to study and the status of enrollments , the demographic data linked to income in the municipalities and other dynamics. We believe that this report can be useful to all those who are interested in better understanding the demographic dynamics of Sardinia".
