"And even today, like every month, I spent my 15 euros on sanitary pads".

Francesca Michielin rekindles the debate on the tampon tax and raises an avalanche of controversy, even on the part of women.

"On average I need three packs of sanitary pads", writes the singer on Twitter: "After all, having your period is a luxury, it's a whim, like wanting to drink sparkling wine, go on vacation, buy cigarettes or a new smartphone, no ? ".

The tax on sanitary towels has recently been lowered from 22 to 10% but it is still too high considering that these are basic necessities and certainly not luxury goods. An issue on which apparently there is little to discuss, and instead among the various favorable voices there are also many users (including many women) who suggest she switch to cheaper sanitary pads or menstrual cups.

But the singer, with great patience, first invites her not to tell her "use the cup" or else because "I feel good just like that, my body my choice". Then he gives up: “I have no words. Rather than opening a debate on tampon taxation, on the fact that they are not a luxury, I have to find myself reading advice on which tampons to use. I don't choose which flow to have everyone has to feel at ease, get the lecturer even no ".
