Jannik Sinner demolishes Danil Medvedev and reaches the final in Miami.

In the first semi-final of the American Master 1000 the South Tyrolean beat the Russian number 4 in the world with a score of 6-1, 6-2 .

Medevedev was looking for revenge after the knockout in the final at the Australian Open, but on the courts of Florida, unlike the hard-fought match in Melbourne, there is really no story. Sinner, who in the last few games had had a somewhat diesel start before accelerating and beating his opponents, starts with the Turbo and immediately sets the record straight .

He immediately took the lead to 5-0, also winning three hard-fought games , then closed 6-1. In the second set immediately a partial of 8 points to 1 puts Sinner at 2-0, the South Tyrolean has to cancel a counterbreak point at 2-1 in his favor but he does it like a great champion . He holds the serve, then the Russian breaks again, today subdued and demolished by the violence of Jannik's groundstrokes. The game practically ends here, the rest is pure formality.

Sinner finishes in 71 minutes, scores the 21st victory out of 22 matches played in 2024 and awaits the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in Sunday's final , who after eliminating Alcaraz in the quarterfinals also defeated Zverev, entering the top ten and playing divine tennis.

In the event of victory , Sinner, thanks also to Alcaraz's premature exit from the tournament, would overtake the Spaniard and become number 2 in the world . For Jannik it is the third final in Miami, he lost the first two against Hurkacz and Medvedev himself. But it was another Sinner.
