A cap on the number of foreign students per class and a ban on the burqa in schools .

This is the measure being considered by the Government, announced today by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the stage at Fenix, the National Youth festival, the youth team of Fretalli d'Italia.

"A Council of Ministers is about to approve a measure that will introduce a legal limit on the number of foreign students per class, require parents of foreign students with serious problems integrating into school to learn Italian, and ban the burqa and hijab in schools ."

"It simply cannot exist, it simply cannot exist, that in an Italian classroom, Italian children feel cornered because they have become the minority. It cannot be done," the prime minister said, commenting on the law.

Meloni also announced that technical-vocational institutes will also be called lyceums : "I am proud to announce that we will soon repeal the law introducing the term lyceum also for technical-vocational institutes, because we want it to be clear from their names that they are schools of equal value and that the people who attend them are of equal value."
