A brawl erupted in the Senate during question time with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "Geopolitical tensions are impacting growth," the prime minister warned, also opening the door to opposition parties willing to "collaborate for the national interest."

On the occasion, Meloni also addressed the issue of energy, announcing that by summer she will approve the government's mandate to resume Italy's nuclear program.

There was also a back-and-forth with the minority—PD and M5S—over the rising debt. "I won't take any lessons after the €174 billion wasted on the Superbonus," the prime minister replied after the attacks.

There was also a clash with Italia Viva leader Matteo Renzi, who pressed the government on the electoral law and the issue of dismissals from Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli's staff, comparing the government to "the Addams Family."

"You call for the Prime Minister's presence in Parliament, but aside from the accusations and insults, there's objectively little to talk about," Meloni responded.
