A plan to reduce waiting lists which also includes the possibility of carrying out visits on weekends.
This was announced by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the closing of the electoral campaign for the Fratelli d'Italia European elections in Rome, in Piazza del Popolo.
“In the next few days we will make a provision to build a national mechanism for monitoring waiting lists , which does not currently exist,” said Meloni. Adding: «It means having the possibility of intervening in a timely manner. And there will be solutions to carry out visits and health services, which will also be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays, abolish the spending cap for the hiring of doctors, involve specialists more, sanction healthcare managers who do not respect the objectives of reducing the lists waiting, rewarding them if they do it instead."
As for visits on weekends, «in the proposal - continued the prime minister - there will also be solutions for carrying out visits, health services, which will also be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays , abolishing the spending ceiling for the hiring of doctors, involving interns more, sanction those healthcare managers who do not respect the objectives of reducing waiting lists and reward them if they do so".
