The Prime Minister closes Atreju 2024. "Thank you for being here again this year as for the last 26 years," she began from the stage of the event. "It's a long time for us but it's practically a geological era for Italian politics: it was 1998, it was the Colle Oppio park and Atreju was the challenge of a generation that spent its entire self in an attempt to overcome prejudices and ideological barriers." After a look at the past, Meloni "played" in defense of the party, with a reference to the young people of FdI, who were hit a few months ago by an investigation into anti-Semitism and racism : "To the young people of the National Youth: I want to tell you once again that I am proud of you and that no pillory built on the error of the individual by spying on people through the keyhole, against you to hit me, takes away who you are, be proud of yourselves."
In front of the audience, Meloni assured that "each of us is aware of the responsibility we have on our shoulders, and we will honor until the last day the task that was given to us by the Italians in this nation. We will arrive united at the end of the government and beyond. Those who hope that one of us will think of putting their own destiny before that of the nation will be disappointed. And disappointing the left is our favorite sport."
Among the hot topics addressed was also that of the migrant centers in Albania that "will work, even if I had to spend every night there from now until the end of the Italian government. Because I want to fight the mafia and I ask the entire Italian State, good people, to help me fight the mafia. I am not the enemy, I am a good person". There was also a look at the year to come: "2025 will be the year of reforms that scare many, we will move forward on the premiership, so feared by the Olympic champions of the palace games, on differentiated autonomy, on fiscal reform and on justice reform".
