As of February 5, Melissa Ricetti has been the new Director of the Regional Directorate of National Museums in Sardinia. She replaces Francesco Muscolino as head of the Ministry of Culture office responsible for the management and promotion of state museums in Sardinia.
An Orientalist archaeologist with a PhD from the University of Rome La Sapienza, Melissa Ricetti completed her studies in Italy and Turkey. She has participated in numerous Italian and international archaeological missions and research projects.
Since 2018, hired as an archaeologist at the Ministry of Culture, she has worked in Friuli Venezia Giulia, first for the Regional Secretariat and later for the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape.
Following his qualification in the first competitive examination for technical managers of the Ministry of Culture, he became a permanent manager in 2025. This is his first managerial role.
