Almost a year after the divorce, Melinda French (formerly Gates) speaks publicly of the painful separation from Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft.
At the basis of the painful decision, taken after 27 years of marriage, there are several betrayals that have made her lose faith in her husband, who has gradually cracked over time.
Not a specific episode, but several episodes, including - it is whispered - a clandestine relationship with a Microsoft employee.
"The relationship of trust was broken," she said in an interview with CBS. “I believe in forgiveness, so I went ahead thinking that sooner or later we would solve the problem. Then, without anything specific happening, the moment came when I realized that it was not healthy for me and that I could not trust ”.
A period of great suffering: “I cried for many days. Some days I was angry, others I would lie on the floor thinking: How can this be? How can I get up? How do I go on? I suffered from something I thought I would have all my life ”.
But now the worst is over: “Now I feel like I'm coming to the other side of the tunnel, like I'm moving on. Now, I'm excited about what will happen and the life I have in front of me ”.
In the divorce case, Melinda did not ask for alimony from Bill, but he transferred a whopping $ 2 billion in cash and stock to his ex-wife's account.
