For territorial continuity among the shared proposals, that of following the model of Spain and France which have overcome the problem of state aid by giving the contribution to passengers and not to the companies.
Furthermore, greater attention was asked for maritime continuity for the transport of goods and certainty on the possibility of traveling on a given day , in addition to the strengthening of the Cagliari port channel.
For internal mobility, the associations have asked for the completion of open construction sites, the strengthening of rail transport with better times than road transport and an infrastructural network that connects ports and airports and makes the movement of goods quick and cost-effective.
The topic of advantageous taxation which can make Sardinian companies competitive, as well as the Zes and the customs free zone, is highly topical.
The representatives of the associations also urged the Regional Council and the Giunta to pay particular attention to the issue of differentiated autonomy so that the gap between Sardinia and the other regions does not widen.
"Since the beginning, trade organizations have been the protagonists of the battle for the recognition of the principle of insularity in the Constitution - said the president of the Commission for the recognition of the principle of insularity, Michele Cossa - and their presence today at this meeting is very important because they represent almost all of the economic world of Sardinia, of which they know the problems and needs. Their contribution will therefore be essential to implement the best actions to decline the principle of insularity and give legs to projects that are able to fill the economic and social gap linked to the insular condition of our Region . I thank the Commission that I preside over for the great work done". And he added: "In a few days, the amendment to the Constitution will enter into force and we must know how to take advantage of this great opportunity to give Sardinia the same opportunities for economic and social growth and development as the other Italian and European regions".
