The names of the 2023 Nobel Medicine winners revealed. The winners of the award were Katalin Karikò and Drew Weissman for having laid the foundations for the messenger mRNA vaccines that made the anti-Covid-19 vaccines possible.
This was announced by the Swedish Academy.
WHO I AM – Karikò, 58 years old, is a Hungarian biochemical scientist, specialized in RNA-mediated mechanisms, with a professorship at the University of Szeged and the University of Pennsylvania.
Weissman, 64, is a US national and also teaches at the University of Pennsylvania. For his research he has already received numerous awards, including, again this year, the Harvey Prize for scientific and technological discoveries.
