About 600 applications for opening a business or professional studio in towns with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants, 1,393 applications accepted for the purchase or renovation of a first home in the same municipalities and 1,422 families who benefited from the baby bonus in 2022.

This is a first assessment of the anti-depopulation measures of the Region, which has allocated 360 million euros divided into three main lines of action: contributions for the opening or transfer of the activity (about 200 million between non-repayable funds and credit 'tax); 55 million non-repayable grant for the purchase or renovation of a first home; and 105 million in birth bonuses until 2025.

“We have planted the seed necessary to fight with strength and determination atavistic evils such as the depopulation of territories and isolation – claims Christian Solinas -. Themes that have seen this Board engaged across the board with measures that have involved the areas of social policies, labour, investments in research, innovation and technological development such as the Einstein Telescope, but also through full support for the competitiveness of the production system region as a whole, with resources allocated to promote employment and attract new entrepreneurial initiatives in those municipalities that today are in danger of disappearing".

«We are comforted – adds the Councilor for Programming and Budget Giuseppe Fasolino – the high interest registered on all three lines of action. The call for tenders on production activities could be reopened in September in the event of new requests. The primary objective is to give new life to those fragile territories, emptied from a demographic point of view , increasing their attractiveness and competitiveness and making them fertile lands in which to establish one's business and grow a new family".

Here are the measurements in detail.

BIRTH BONUS - Active since 2022, it is a monthly allowance of up to 600 euros to those who reside or transfer their residence to municipalities with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants. The contribution is paid for each child born, adopted or in pre-adoptive foster care, in 2022 up to the age of five, regardless of the ISEE of the family unit. For each child subsequent to the first, the monthly contribution is 400 euros.

FIRST HOME LOAN - The contribution is granted to those who have their registered residence in a small municipality in Sardinia or to those who move within 18 months of the purchase of the house or of the date of completion of the works, provided that the municipality of origin is not also a small town in Sardinia. It can also go to those who transfer their residence there and who do not reside, at the time of submitting the application, in a Sardinian municipality. The contribution is granted up to a maximum of 50 per cent of the expenditure and in any case for a maximum amount of 15,000 euros per individual (there can only be one beneficiary in a household).

ENTERPRISES - This is a grant of between 15,000 and 20,000 euros for the opening of new businesses. Each new activity opened and each transfer of activity in the territory of the municipalities with a population of less than 3,000 inhabitants will receive a grant of 15 thousand euros, which becomes 20 thousand if employment increases. Starting from 2023, this measure will be linked to the one accompanying companies (including new ones) which provides for a contribution in the form of a tax credit of up to 40% of the taxes paid.
