The hearings on the health reform continue in the sixth commission of the Regional Council. Today the ANCI, the mayors of Cagliari and Sassari and the University of Cagliari were heard.

In general, less severe judgments have been received than those expressed in recent days by unions and operators in the sector. Even though, as reiterated by the president of ANCI Daniela Falconi, «the priority remains the budget». Furthermore, none of the representatives heard so far have been able to view (at least officially) the maxi amendment of the Council that will bring a series of changes to the bill being examined by the commission.

"Today in the commission we talked about what is needed: to attack the emergencies of waiting lists, of local health care, of the doctors who are missing. We want a more important role for health conferences with the mayors as protagonists", he said. Priority to the maneuver? "Yes, even if we think that both things can be done at the same time. But the budget is urgent, also for health care itself".

For the mayor of Sassari Giuseppe Mascia «in our territory we need to think about the correlation between ASL and Azienda Università. In any case this text represents a good starting point because it thinks about a reconfiguration».

The mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda observes that "this is not a reform with the same impact as the previous ones. The president of the Region has declared, and I agree, that the system cannot be thrown into fibrillation every time, with every change of majority. This is an aspect of attention and political intelligence on the part of the governor". That said, "we are interested in how the Municipalities can be helped on the one hand, and how they can help the well-being of healthcare".

Francesco Mola, rector of the University of Cagliari, emphasizes that "we are interested in reiterating the need to expand the training network, which basically means creating a larger structure, to allow the courses of study - and those of specialization - to then find Anvur accreditation. This has always been the only proposal that the University of Cagliari has made over time, we hope that sooner or later it will be accepted: a regional health system without a strong training system risks seeing all its efforts in vain".
