This is not a celebratory initiative. It is an appeal. It is a finger pointed at the present, to awaken the future. On the occasion of May 1st - Labor Day, the Region, through the Department of Labor, and the Acli, turn the spotlight on labor exploitation that "erases the dignity of the person".
Within the new 2025 edition of the communication campaign “Nessuno è straniero all'umanità”, two key words are put at the center: work and humanity. These are entrusted to the new generations, protagonists of a video-investigation in which Sardinian high school students answer without filters about what they think about work, its lack, the role of immigrants in today's market. Their words are then accompanied by official data, to generate a direct clash between perception and reality.
The data, moreover, speaks clearly: 49.3% of the hirings planned in Sardinia are difficult to find. There are no candidates (31.3%), or those available are considered inadequate (14.4%).
Yet, foreign workers – a potential resource for the Island in key sectors such as agriculture, industry, services, assistance – continue to be looked upon with suspicion, victims of a narrative made of stereotypes and hostility, if not outright exploitation.
The video, made in schools with structured questions and timed answers, will be broadcast on the official channels of the Region, Acli Sardegna and Crei-Acli, with the aim of transforming May 1st into a moment of real collective awareness.
The message of the campaign is not only humanitarian: it is social, political and economic: "Without inclusion, there is no future. Without respect, there is no work", the organizers loudly reiterate.
