Labor Day but also an opportunity to learn about the island culture of Sardinia. The Museums of the Regional Directorate will be open, exceptionally, also tomorrow. An initiative that is aimed not only at Sardinians but also at tourists already present on the island.

The Basilica of San Saturnino in Cagliari will be open from 9am to 2pm. It is located in the area of the Christian necropolis and is considered one of the main early Christian monuments in the Mediterranean.

In Sassari, doors are open at the “GA Sanna” Museum from 9am to 1.45pm. You can visit the Castoldi Pavilion recently reopened to the public. The Sanna, Bertolio, Reksten and Dessì collections tell the story of the island and their donors.

Also in Sassari there is the National Art Gallery which will remain open all day, from 9am to 7pm. For Labor Day, a work by Ausonio Tanda entitled: Fisherman who ties up his nets, 1962 - Ruju donation was chosen as the symbol Piredda. Among the novelties on display, it will be possible to admire the works of Giuseppe Biasi, in the new room inaugurated a few days ago on the second floor, almost entirely dedicated to his drawings, belonging to the Collection of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia,

On May 1st it is worth making a trip to Caprera to visit the Garibaldi Compendium (from 8.30am to 7.30pm) where you can discover not only details of Garibaldi's life, where he lived for 26 years, but also his adventures and his travels around the seas of the world. To delve deeper into the history of Garibaldi, a few kilometers away, the route begins that leads to the Giuseppe Garibaldi Memorial , in the Savoy fortress which houses the Museum. Opening from 1.45pm to 7.15pm.
