The star dancers seem to announce the title of Max Mazzoli's exhibition: "Winter is over. Pictorial dreams in transit". The solo exhibition of the Livorno artist who has lived and worked in Sassari for years inaugurates the Spazio Domen in viale Porto Torres 31 on Saturday at 6.30 pm.

As the managers of the Dolmen cultural association explain: «We are opening a new space for arts and culture in Sassari because we want our land to once again become a protagonist in the growth of ideas, in the sharing of creative actions, giving support to those who elaborate and develop innovation. We still believe that art will save us."

About forty oils on canvas by Max Mazzoli will be presented at the exhibition, ranging from 2016 to the most recent production (2023-2024). The dreamlike realism of the Tuscan artist's works comes after the periods in which he was also inspired by American pop art, to arrive (momentarily) at a surrealism with reference to science fiction worlds, to parallel realities, which ultimately can also be dreamed.

The critic Mariolina Cosseddu explains: «The present is only a question of moments in transit: a solo show can serve to expand it and make it an opportunity for meeting, for emotional sharing, for highlighting ghosts and unspoken dreams. Which means opening the diary of the days and rummaging through it. Through painting."

During the inauguration, the curator will introduce the artist's works to the public, who will be present together with the members of the Dolmen association.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from 23 to 30 March 2024, including Sundays, from 5pm to 7pm .
