Winger Carlos Marshall suffered a minor injury during the Tortona match when an opponent (Pecchia) fell on him on his right knee. After medical tests at the CDS clinic in Sassari, the club issued a statement: "The tests revealed a sprain to the right knee with a grade II tear of the medial collateral ligament."

Since this is a grade II injury and therefore a partial lesion, surgery is not necessary, but conservative treatment will be recommended. The statement itself makes this clear: "The player will immediately begin the therapeutic and rehabilitation program, with constant monitoring by the white-and-blue medical staff."

Recovery times typically last no less than 4-6 weeks, so it's safe to assume Marshall won't be back until February. This means missing 6-8 league games and 3-5 European Cup games. This is a significant absence, although coach Mrsic will still be able to field six foreign players in the league by bringing Beliauskas back. Marshall, along with Buie, was Banco di Sardegna's driving force, as evidenced by his 14 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
