Before the grand finale party, featuring DJ Matrix who kept everyone dancing for hours, the 46th edition of Su Marrulleri concluded late Sunday evening with the eagerly awaited announcement and award ceremony of the winners, following a regional parade that once again confirmed the extraordinary vitality of the "Marrubiu Historic Carnival." This event, which drew 25,000 people, once again showcased the creativity and ever-increasing artistic quality of the papier-mâché giants.
The jury , composed of qualified figures from the regional cultural and artistic scene, had the difficult task of evaluating the floats and masked groups based on rigorous criteria: originality, coherence of the theme, quality of the sets, costumes, choreography, and ability to engage the audience. In the premier category, that of the First Category Floats , the top step of the podium went to the Magic Group from Terralba with an explosion of color, lights, and choreography that captivated the audience and the jury. Second place went to the Storpions Group , also from Terralba, while third place was awarded to the Galaxy Team Marrubiu . For the Second Category Floats , first place was taken by the La Goccia Avis Marrubiu Group , a float that also touched people with its message of social and solidarity. The silver medal went to VIita Odv Marrubiu – Donatori Marrow Osseo , while third place went to the Lol Group from Villacidro.
In the section dedicated to Masked Groups , first prize was awarded to Lo Spuntino di Marrubiu , who won over everyone with a brilliant and engaging performance. Second place went to Sa Ratantina Casteddaia of Cagliari , while third place went to Su Kikkiri Sardu of Marrubiu , a group that successfully combined tradition and creativity. Great enthusiasm also for the first edition of Su Marrullerino , dedicated to the little ones, a sign of a carnival that is growing and involving all generations. The award for the most colorful group went to Peter Pan , the award for the most boisterous group was awarded to La Scienza , while the largest group was La Dalmatia dei 101 .
In his closing remarks , Mayor Luca Corrias expressed great satisfaction with the event's success. "Su Marrulleri has confirmed its identity as an event, capable of combining tradition, creativity, and popular participation. The quality of the floats and groups was exceptional, and the audience responded enthusiastically. Marrulleri is proud to be a key player in the island's carnival. I thank everyone: float designers, volunteers, associations, law enforcement, and residents. Without their commitment, none of this would be possible." The mayor also announced that the municipal administration is already working on the 2027 edition, with the goal of making the event "even richer, more participatory, and more representative of our community."
