For the first time on the island, the portrait of a family of artists is presented in “Welcome to the Morandi House,” a comedy written by Marianna and Marco Morandi with Pino Quartullo and Elisabetta Tulli. It recalls the childhood and early youth of two children of artists, amid the successes and professional commitments of their famous father Gianni and their mother, actress Laura Efrikian.

An original and entertaining play, produced by Marioletta Bideri for Bis Tremila and distributed by Diego Ruiz for MenteComica, on the bill Thursday, March 12th at 8:30 pm at the Teatro Costantino in Macomer, Friday, March 13th at 8:30 pm at the “Antonio Garau” Theatre in Oristano, Saturday, March 14th at 9 pm at the Teatro San Bartolomeo in Meana Sardo and finally Sunday, March 15th at 8:30 pm at the “Akinu Congia” Municipal Theatre in Sanluri.

Highly anticipated guests of Cedac Sardinia's Great Prose Season, chaired by Antonio Cabiuddu and directed by Valeria Ciabattoni, Marianna and Marco Morandi, alongside Marcello Sindici, directed by Pino Quartullo with the assistance of Giorgio Melone, play themselves, grappling with a move after the passing of Nanny Marta. Among furniture and old toys, memories of a life in the spotlight resurface, including film sets and television studios, films and songs, which have shaped the lives of the two protagonists, accustomed since childhood to appearing in the public eye, like little stars under the flashes of photographers.

“Welcome to the Morandi Home” is an emotional journey, in which the now adult brother and sister confront their past, their joy and sadness, the serenity of playtime and the reassuring presence of their nanny.

Between phone calls from mom and dad, and their children, and the unexpected arrival of a pushy and amorous mover, Marianna and Marco Morandi tell their stories with irony, lightheartedness, and a hint of melancholy.

A delicate and tender comedy about the importance of affection, in which Marianna, an actress and graduate of the National Academy of Dramatic Arts, with a successful career in theater, film and television, and Marco, a refined and charismatic singer, actor and composer, a protagonist on the most prestigious stages since childhood and from 2024 also on TV on Rai 2 together with the journalist and critic Gino Castaldo with the music column within the afternoon program Bellamà, reveal their thoughts and feelings, along with significant fragments of their family history, with disarming sincerity.

The show's original music is by Marco Morandi and Sons, while Mauro Paradiso is responsible for the sets, with lighting design by Stefano Glielmi, sound design by Luca Faustinella, and choreography by Marcello Sindici.

"Welcome to Morandi's House" brings to the stage, with the lightness and irony of comedy, a vivid family portrait. It captures the emotional dimension and spontaneity of everyday life, transfigured into a performance, to make us smile and think, to relive the past and the times of childhood and adolescence, perhaps with a hint of nostalgia, but with a clear awareness of the present and an eye to the future.
