This evening, Wednesday 4, at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari, the program of La Grande Prosa organized by the CeDAC / Multidisciplinary Circuit of Live Performance in Sardinia chaired by Antonio Cabiddu resumes.

"The invisible husband", a story of love and friendship, an original and amusing comedy written and directed by Edoardo Erba, interpreted by Maria Amelia Monti and Marina Massironi and produced by "Gli Ipocriti" and Melina Balsamo, is the first title of 2023, chosen by the artistic director Valeria Ciabattoni, and will remain on stage until 8 January, every day from Wednesday to Saturday at 8.30pm and Sunday at 7pm.

An intriguing pièce full of coups de théâtre, entrusted to the verve and vis comica of two refined and brilliant performers, two leading artists of the Italian scene, known and loved by the general public, with sets by Luigi Ferrigno, costumes by Nunzia Russo, music by Massimiliano Gagliardi, lighting design by Giuseppe D'Alterio and video production by Davide Di Nardo and Leonardo Erba.

Among the most interesting and appreciated Italian playwrights, Edoardo Erba, author of successful texts, translated and also performed abroad, such as "La notte di Picasso", "Vizio di Famiglia" and "Déjàvu", as well as the famous "Maratona di New York”, deals with the always topical and controversial question of the use and abuse of information technology tools in everyday life.

Focus on human relationships and on the changes dictated by the frenetic pace of existence as well as by the possibilities offered by modern technologies, which make it possible to eliminate distances and communicate "in real time", or almost, with the whole world but paradoxically make encounters more rare and direct comparisons, thus making the emotion of a hug, an exchange of glances, a smile, a handshake or a caress more significant and precious.

The pièce investigates the cultural and social transformations, after the terrible and for many devastating experience of the pandemic, with the isolation of the months of the lockdown and the traumas and fears aroused by the awareness of one's own and others' fragility, as well as the habit of relying on chats, messages and video calls, which in the most dramatic period of the restrictions imposed by the health emergency represented the only link with the outside world, a fundamental and indispensable window on the world.

"The invisible husband", through the key of irony, emphasizes the subtle mutations that take place in our lives, and therefore the need to become aware of them and, if necessary, establish limits so that virtual reality does not completely invade the space of relationships, depriving us of direct contacts, so much so that even love stories begin and end in chat, as if one voluntarily chose to give up the use of all five senses, isolating oneself in a sort of "bubble", as happens to the two protagonists, in an anticipation of possible futures.

The added value of the pièce is ensured by the extraordinary ability of the two actresses, well known and appreciated also by the audience of the small screen for their endless careers between TV, stage and cinema, to render exceptional life scenes in an ironic and comic key. importance in our daily lives.
