The famous Cybersecurity expert Marco Camisani Calzolari , known to the general TV audience for his weekly column dedicated to computer science dissemination on “Striscia La Notizia”, arrived on the Island, a guest of the Asgesa Cooperative chaired by Katia Dessì, for an interesting seminar entitled "Anti-Online Fraud Information".

The data released during the meeting were impressive: in 2024, in Italy, approximately 12.7 million people were victims of online scams. In Sardinia, it is estimated that over 320,000 citizens suffered at least one online scam while, at a national level, the Postal Police handled 18,714 cases with an increase of 15% compared to the previous year. To prevent this increasingly widespread phenomenon, information and awareness of the potential risks by the most vulnerable categories is essential.

The dissemination and communication on these aspects plays a fundamental role and the activity of experts who can summarize with immediately understandable advice the dangers surrounding the universe of cyber criminals is crucial to counteract the many forms of deception possible today. The direct and empathetic style of Marco Camisani Calzolari, who boasts over 35 years of teaching and training experience for Universities, Ministries and Departments for Public Security of foreign countries , allows the most defenseless elderly to immediately understand some simple suggestions to defend themselves from scammers on the net. The event was a very important opportunity for prevention, not only for the elderly, but for all people who are not very familiar with the net and new technologies. At the end of the evening the friendly disseminator sent a greeting to the readers of L'Unione Sarda.
