An 8th of March in the name of culture. Exhibitions and events on Saturday for International Women's Day, with free admission for women, in the museums of the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Sardinia and in state cultural sites.

The Pinacoteca Nazionale di Sassari opens from 8 to 19.30. It offers at 17.30 a guided tour entitled: “Stories of women, stories of artists”, to learn more about the artists present in the museum's collections: from the paintings of Margherita Caffi and Sophie Clerk Giordano, to arrive at the Sardinian twentieth century, with Edina Altara and Maria Lai, Liliana Cano and Mariuccia Siotto Calvia.

National Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum “Giovanni Antonio Sanna” of Sassari open from 9 to 13.45.

The National Archaeological Museum “Antiquarium Turritano” and the Archaeological Area of Porto Torres, open from 9.30 to 16.00, offer an itinerant tour entitled “ Women in the Roman Age” at 11.00 and 15.00.

The National Archaeological Museum “Giorgio Asproni” in Nuoro (open from 9 am to 3:30 pm) is organizing an all-female talk at 11 am entitled “ Is archaeology a woman?”.

The different declinations of female archaeology told by those who live and work in the Nuoro area. Freelance professionals, museum workers, public and private employees, will talk about the daily work challenges of a profession in which women, although numerically superior, are still far from seeing full gender equality recognized. The format will be open to a multi-voiced discussion in which the public will also be able to intervene. An alternative and unusual approach to raise awareness of lesser-known aspects of a profession about which very little is known.

In Caprera the Garibaldi Compendium will remain open from 8.30 to 19.30, while the Giuseppe Garibaldi Memorial will be open from 8.30 to 13.45.

Finally, the Basilica of San Saturnino in Cagliari will be open from 9am to 2pm.
