Rolando Maran is the new Albanian national team coach. The announcement was made by Armand Duka, president of the Tirana Football Federation, who, accompanied by former coach Silvinjo, presented the Italian coach (who led Cagliari for two seasons in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020) who will take charge of the national team.

"We are announcing the name of Albania's new coach, Rolando Maran ," the federation's president said. "We thank Silvinjo and his staff; we parted ways by mutual agreement. We are beginning a new era with a coach who is no longer young, like Maran. We are aiming for first place in the Nations League and qualification for Euro 2028, and then we will continue to pursue the goal we have never achieved: participating in the World Cup."

Albania was eliminated in the playoffs by Poland. "Thank you for this opportunity," Maran said, "I've followed the Albanian national team closely. You're giving me the opportunity to represent a people I'm very proud of, something you can feel when you talk to an Albanian fan. I want to convey my great love for this jersey. For me, it's a commitment I'm taking on, something I feel inside, a very strong feeling for this mission, to convey what you represent on the pitch." Maran, 62, has a two-year contract: his last experience as coach of Brescia.
