The national team's road to the 2022 World Cup will pass through Palermo.

The match on March 24th valid for the World Cup qualifying playoffs in Qatar between the Azzurri and North Macedonia will be played at the “Renzo Barbera” stadium.

This was announced to Sky Sport by the president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina, interviewed in Zurich where he is at the Fifa Museum for the commemoration of Paolo Rossi.

"We met with Mancini - said Gravina - and we chose Palermo. We want to build, starting now, an important event, involving the city of Palermo and Italy. We intend to close an extraordinary season that culminated with the victory of the 'European".

In case of victory, Italy will face, away, the winner of the match between Portugal and Turkey: challenge from inside or outside, whoever wins goes to Qatar.
