Out today, on the radio and on all digital platforms, "Cocktail d'amore", the single that marks Mahmood's long-awaited return.

The song, written by the singer of Sardinian origins and produced by Dardust, is a melancholy ballad about the end of a relationship, which delicately browses through the couple's memories, from travel to the simplest moments and gestures, up to retracing now clouded expectations and desires from regrets.

The title of the piece angered Cristiano Malgioglio, given the homonym with one of his great hits from 1983 : «I'm beside myself – he said when the release was announced -. That is not a trivial title. It's a very original title for such an important song. As if I wrote a song and called it 'In the blue painted blue'. It can't be done, it infuriates me. If he had done a cover, it would have been a good thing. But this really isn't it. If he has no ideas, he should change jobs immediately. Because this work is done with good ideas, not by copying other people's ideas. Faced with these lapses in style, I become a beast."

Mahmood for his part does not respond and prepares for the European Tour, 16 dates which will see him perform in the main clubs of 10 European countries - including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain - and then conclude with an Italian stop at the Fabrique in Milan , scheduled for May 17, 2024.
