Award-winning. King of pizza. Diego Vitagliano , in Naples and beyond, is an institution in the industry. And he's created a pizza dedicated to Sardinia that's winning over gourmets and viewers alike. Yes, because the island enters the gastronomic narrative of Vista Mare through "4 Casi," the pizza Diego Vitagliano created for an episode of the Rai 1 program that coincidentally had the highest ratings.

"My creation," explains Vitagliano, "takes its name from the four cheeses used: braided fiordilatte mozzarella, pecorino al fieno, pecorino sardo, and primo sale al pecorino. The recipe is completed with tomato jam and micro basil."

The Sardinian touch is provided by Sardinian pecorino , which Vitagliano incorporates into a composition that juxtaposes different cheeses, consistencies, and intensities. Tomato jam complements the cheese, while micro basil completes the dish.

On Vista Mare, the program hosted by Federico Quaranta and Diletta Acanfora, Diego Vitagliano made a great impression thanks to Isola. And he's obviously proud of it.

The pizzas are made on the seaside terrace of his pizzeria in Pozzuoli, creating a link between the tradition of Neapolitan dough and the territories crossed by the show.

"It's always a thrill for me to bring my pizza to TV and, above all, to tell the story of Italy through its great regional products," said Vitagliano, introducing the project.

With "4 Casi," the Sardinian stop is interpreted through one of the products most closely associated with the island's gastronomic culture—pecorino—without sacrificing the identity of contemporary Neapolitan pizza. And Vitagliano is among the most highly regarded in the field. This year, Forbes named him one of Italy's 35 master pizza makers, and for three consecutive years (from 2023 to 2025) he topped the "50 Top Pizza" list. Gambero Rosso also noted: awarded him the Three Wedges and the Special Prize “I Maestri dell'Impasto” in 2022. Other awards: "Best Dining Room Service" award in 2023 from 50 Top Pizza Italia. Previously named Pizza Chef of the Year.
