"Present and future of inland areas of Sardinia". The seventh edition of the Nino Carrus award is underway, organized by the association of the same name, created with the aim of making an important contribution to the fundamental themes of Sardinia's development.
The association proposes an important theme, around which papers will be created (an essay, a newspaper article or other type of prose), aimed at developing a study and research project. The theme is "Present and future of the inland areas of Sardinia: resisting or thinking about developing a new existence?". Participants will therefore have to propose ideas and projects in the form of public policies, entrepreneurial, social and cultural initiatives. Applications to participate, accompanied by the documents, must be presented by 30 September.
The initiative, which is proposed on a biennial basis, is organized by the Nino Carrus Association, which has been involved for years on political and cultural issues, with particular attention to issues relating to the development of the territory, social awareness and territorial promotion. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Borore (birthplace of Nino Carrus), the Sardinia Foundation and other important public and private partners.
«There are several points on which to develop ideas - it is written in the press release of the association, chaired by Rosanna Carboni - from the sociological to the historical and economic level, with the maximum freedom to deepen the design declination closest to one's training and baggage cultural. However, the presentation of feasible solutions and economically sustainable and practicable interventions is fundamental».
Participants will then be called to articulate the project proposal in person, clearly and in detail defining the objectives and actions to be undertaken and, possibly, identifying the critical points. The work will be evaluated by a special commission on the basis of technical-scientific criteria, judging the innovative scope, originality and real feasibility of the proposed project. There are three prizes up for grabs. The announcement is aimed at all Sardinians residing on the island or emigrating for study or work reasons, to residents in Sardinia for at least five years, to groups in which at least one member was born in Sardinia. No one must be over 45 years of age. The award ceremony is set for the month of December in Borore.
