Transforming ideas into projects and looking to the future. The Nino Carrus Prize returns, now in its eighth year, with a focus on artificial intelligence, digital transition, and new technologies, and how they can reduce inequalities and revitalize marginalized areas.

It is an explicit invitation to young people, who are invited to transform their ideas into projects for the revitalization of the island's inland areas. The initiative, promoted by the Nino Carrus Association, will involve the Toniolo Institute of Milan in judging the submissions, thus strengthening the scientific and social value of the prestigious award.

"Participating in the competition means translating into project proposals the actions that can revive the lives of marginalized inland areas," explains Rosanna Carboni, president of the association. "The Award is an opportunity to think, propose, and build the future of Sardinian towns and cities. New technologies can restore centrality to inland areas both by improving services and by opening up new job prospects ."

Daniela Pisu, 2018 winner and board member, adds: "Participating in the Prize meant joining a vibrant community, where ideas are heard and transformed into action. Today more than ever, artificial intelligence can become a tool for building regional alliances and revitalizing small towns." The prize fund is six thousand euros, and entries can be submitted until November 30th. The competition is divided into two sections. Section A is for young people up to forty years old with a high school diploma, and its theme is "Digital Transition and AI in the Inner Areas of Sardinia: Ideas, Projects, and Opportunities for Promoting Regional Equality and Social Well-Being in Small Towns."

Section B is aimed at high school students, with the theme "Future Without Borders." The prize is funded by the Fondazione di Sardegna and the Municipality of Borore.

"The Award," adds the association's president, "confirms itself as a laboratory of thought and planning for a more equitable and innovative Sardinia."
