Thousands of participants at the 22nd edition of the book exhibition published in Sardinia, which closed yesterday. A real success.
Thousands of visitors, authors, publishers and school children, who animated the pavilions of Filigosa and Tamuli (formerly Mura barracks), the Cultural Services Centre, then the municipal library and other cultural institutions spread throughout the Marghine area.
Mayor Riccardo Uda and Councillor for Culture Fabiana Cugusi were very satisfied when last night, from the stage of the Teatro Costantino, they thanked all the people who worked for the success of the event and those who participated in the numerous meetings, starting with the publishers, protagonists of the event together with the books and the authors.
An event that saw the presence of 56 guests who alternated with workshops, exhibitions, meetings and debates, over 11 publishing houses represented, joined by the Association of Independent Sardinian Publishers.
The 6 exhibitions set up at Casa Attene, in the premises of the Ex Alas, in the municipal library and at the Teatro Costantino were also linked to books.
The workshops for schools were well attended: around 1600 students were involved . In other cases, the authors reached the various towns of Marghine, which joined the initiative with the active collaboration of the Union of Municipalities. A fundamental component of the event is represented by the young people to whom the coordination of the Cultural Services Centre and the Municipality have reserved great attention. Mayor Uda: "Young people are the future and schools will be increasingly involved. The next edition will take place in spring also to be able to work with students during the school year in view of the Exhibition". This year's edition stood out for its contaminations between languages. "If literature is the natural protagonist of the event - says Fabiana Cugusi, councilor for culture - great space was given to archaeology, music, illustration, photography". Numerous and varied topics were covered. The Exhibition has well represented the history of Sardinia, with archaeological finds and even agri-food products. We also talked about disabilities, addictions, rights, to remember that culture embraces all of man's life in its infinite facets, and to raise awareness among young people and adults on issues of great relevance. The next appointment is set for spring.
